Reddit comment scraper, as an API

Name a subreddit or paste a thread. Get the posts and every comment back as JSON, scored, with the quotes already sorted by what they mean.

Runs in your BuzzSearch account. Free to sign up, and the same read is one API call or one MCP tool call.

Comments we read under one source

One thread, read in full. These are eight of the 133 comments under it, as the API hands them back, replies and all.

Every card is a real comment, quoted as written. This is what the API returns, before the quotes are tagged.

One call from your code. One tool call from your agent.

The search endpoint takes a link the same way it takes a question. Poll once with include=comments and the whole section comes back as JSON.

● buzzsearch - get_quotes (MCP)(dimensions: ["emotional_painpoints"])

What comes back

Not a CSV of rows. The comments, the quotes already tagged by what they mean, the sources with their counts, and a cited answer.

comments[]

Every comment read, with author, upvotes, depth, and its permalink, grouped under the thread it belongs to.

quotes[]

The lines worth keeping, tagged pain point, failed solution, objection, desired outcome, or lingo, with a score and an intensity.

sources_read[]

Each thread with its subreddit, upvotes, comment total, how many comments were read, and when it was posted.

answer.markdown

A cited read of the community, every claim pointing at a quote id.

coverage

Threads, comments, and sources in the run, so you can judge the read before you trust it.

credits_charged

The exact cost, reported after the run. Rereading a finished search is free.

What gets read

A subreddit

Its top threads, then the comments under each one, so the read is the community talking, not the sidebar.

A thread link

The post body and the full comment tree, replies included, with every score.

A question

Search first, then read: the threads Google surfaces for the query, across subreddits you did not know to name.

The post body

Quotable as its own line, since the question in the post is often the pain point.

Archived and locked threads

Read like any other. Reddit's search does not find old threads; the cited answer does.

No Reddit API key

No app registration, no OAuth, no rate ceiling to manage. The read is a page read.

Questions

Is there a free Reddit comment scraper here?

Reads run inside a BuzzSearch account. Signing up is free, and the input above drops your subreddit into the chat, where the first read is the same one the API makes.

Does it show subreddit member counts and activity?

The read returns each thread's upvotes, comment total, and date, which is the activity that matters: a community with fewer members and more comments per thread is the busier one. Member counts are on the subreddit itself.

Can I find subreddits for my niche?

Ask a question instead of naming a subreddit. BuzzSearch finds the threads first, across communities, and the sources list tells you which subreddits they came from. Reddit customer research

Is this a GummySearch replacement?

GummySearch closes on December 1, 2026. BuzzSearch covers the same Reddit research in a chat and an API, and adds TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. GummySearch alternative

Does it include private or quarantined subreddits?

No. Only public communities and threads are read.

How is this billed?

Credits from your BuzzSearch balance, charged after the run and reported as credits_charged. Reading a finished search, its quotes, its sources, and its comments costs nothing. See pricing
